about you.

What we collect

If you sign up for the newsletter: your email address, and the date you signed up. Nothing else.

If you request a restock notification: your email address and the product you asked about. We use this only to send you that one notification. You won't receive further restock notices unless you sign up again.

If you place an order: your name, shipping address, email, and phone number. This goes through Shopify. We see what Shopify shows us in the order dashboard. We don't use it for anything but getting your order to you.

Payment data

Payment is handled by Shopify and their payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal, etc.). We never see your full card number, CVV, or banking details. Shopify is PCI-DSS compliant. We have no access to that data and no ability (or desire) to store it.

How we use it

Email addresses collected through the newsletter form are used only to send the newsletter. Email addresses collected through restock requests are used only for that one notification. Order information is used only to fulfill your order and communicate with you about it.

We do not sell email addresses. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We would rather know less about you.

Third-party services

We use Shopify for order processing and checkout, Firebase (Google) for our newsletter list and site infrastructure, and Resend for transactional emails. Each has their own privacy policy and data handling. We use them only for the purpose stated. We don't cross-sell, and we detest behavioral profiling.

One exception is worth stating plainly. When films from our Instagram account appear on the homepage, they play from Meta's servers rather than ours. When one of them loads, Meta can see that your browser requested it, along with whatever it already knows about you. We get nothing from this and we ask for nothing; it is simply what an Instagram embed does. Nothing else on the site loads a third-party frame, and blocking instagram.com costs you the films and nothing else.

Data removal

To remove your email from the newsletter list, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter. To remove your email from restock notifications or to request deletion of order data, write to tess@arachnefiberworks.com. We'll handle it within five business days.
