Hex
A hex is a working. That is all the word ever meant. It comes through the Pennsylvania German hexe, from the German Hexe, witch, and the hex signs painted on barns went up to keep things out rather than to send anything at anyone. Somewhere between then and now the word narrowed into a threat, which says more about who was doing the naming than about the practice. Hex is a variegated colorway. Acid green runs hard against near black and storm gray, with olive and dull bronze in the shifts between them and purple surfacing where the darks meet. It reads quiet at arm's length and loud up close, which is the whole idea. Samhain colorway. Limited to this dyelot.
Hand-dyed in small batches. Color varies between skeins and from the photos. That variation is the point.
